Sainsbury’s Energy

Sainsbury’s Energy was launched on September 18, 2001.  The initial launch saw ScottishPower provide the gas and electricity for this service following on from a successful trial over the previous year where ScottishPower had gained some 75,000 customers as a result of the relationship.

As from September 6, 2006, EDF Energy took over from Scottish Power as the Energy supplier for Sainsbury's Energy.  Those customers who were already a customer before this date remain supplied by Scottish Power.  However, all new customers to Sainsbury's Energy as from the 6th September 2006 are supplied by EDF Energy.

With Sainsbury’s Energy you can now earn nectar points and if you sign up online and pay by monthly direct debit and correctly participate in the Read, Reduce and Reward scheme you could collect as many as 6,200 Nectar points in the first year**
