EBICo increase gas and electricity prices after 13 months

EBICo, the not-for-profit energy supplier has today announced increases to both its gas and electricity tariffs.

The increases which average 31.34% for gas and 21.41% for standard electricity come after EBICo last increased prices on the 25th July 2005, some thirteen months ago.

EBICo are unique in the energy market in that they charge the same price regardless of payment method, offers tariffs with no standing charge and have no tiered unit rate. From a billing viewpoint it is the simplest tariff in the market to understand.

The impact of these increases can be seen in the table below:

Over the last one and half months we have now seen almost every single energy supplier introduce double digit price increases and looking forward at future wholesale energy costs it is likely that another round of energy price increases may affect the UK energy customer before the end of the year.

Energylinx would encourage all customers to look very seriously at capped or fixed prices deals as soon as possible. We have already had four fixed price tariffs close for new business this year and each time prices increase there is a distinct possibility that existing fixed price tariffs may close, so advice from Energylinx is act now.

Energylinx is largest specialist domestic energy price comparison in the UK that allows users to compare the prices of every single gas and electricity supplier.
