British Gas close applications for Price Protection 2010

Following an unprecedented demand for its domestic gas and electricity tariff with prices protected to 2010 British Gas has today, 18th January 2006, withdrawn its Price Protection Energy Tariff.

ScottishPower launch Online Energy Saver

ScottishPower has launched a new tariff, Online Energy Saver, a version of their successful Dual Fuel Online Energy tariffs but with much increased discounts and with actual unit costs reduced in four areas.

The new Online Energy Saver is available only to domestic dual fuel customers who pay their energy bills by direct debit.

Coupled with an account offering full online account management this is fantastic news for the domestic customer. Its is also the only gas and electricity tariff to be actually reduced in cost in 2006.

The increased discounts, applicable until at least October 2006 are £15 + VAT off the gas element of the account and £30 off the electricity element of the account.

With gas and electricity prices currently on an upward spiral, initiatives like this will be welcomed by the market place.
