The OVO new energy plan
The OVO new energy plan was launched on the 2nd September 2009.
The key features of the OVO new energy plan are:
- Great value – being new, they use the latest technology to be more efficient and keep their costs low – savings that they pass on to you.
- OVO’s fixed rate tariffs give guaranteed great value energy prices for a year.
- The fixed rate runs for 12 months beginning on the day OVO starts supplying your energy. OVO will remind you of the expiry date – printed clearly on every monthly statement – and contact you two months in advance to make sure that you don’t forget. At the end of your 12 month fixed price period, you can choose another fixed tariff for the next 12 months or move to OVO’s variable rate. If OVO doesn’t hear from you, you will automatically be moved to the cheapest available variable rate OVO offers at that time.
- 15% green energy – because OVO think increasing the demand for renewable energy will lead to an increase in supplies, they mix some in even though this isn’t their ‘green tariff’.
- Paperless billing – another way of doing your bit for the planet. Sending your bills by email saves energy and trees.
- Direct debit – another cost saving for OVO that they then pass on to you. Receiving payments by direct debit means they don’t have to factor in the extra costs associated with old fashioned bills – like people forgetting to pay on time. It also makes life easier for you.
