Fixed Price Energy 2009 from Scottish Power

Customers who elected to join Fixed Price Energy 2009 will see their fixed price come to an end on the 31st August 2009.

At that time most customers will see their energy prices increase simply due to the fact that they have been on a fixed price which helped cushion them from the price increases experienced during 2008.

ScottishPower is offering all customers on their Fixed Price Energy 2009 tariff the opportunity to join a new tariff specifically for them called Capped Price Energy September 2010. This new tariff is only available to customers who were previously on Fixed Price Energy 2009 is a capped price tariff where prices are capped until September 2010.

Prices for Capped Price Energy September 2010 are the same as current ScottishPower standard rates, so customers do not need to pay any premium.

As to whether this is a good deal for you we would recommend that you carry out a comparison and see if this represents value for money or not. When comparing do make sure that you note your current tariff as Fixed Price Energy 2009 and do not be surprised when you see you cannot save anything. The key is to then compare the ScottishPower standard tariff to see whether or not this works for you.
