Energywatch is the UK 's independent gas and electricity consumer watchdog set up by government to help protect the interests of the UK domestic electricity and gas consumer.

 

Energywatch is completely separate from Ofgem, the gas and electricity regulator and Energylinx, the home energy price comparison. However, the three organizations work to help promote the interests of domestic consumers within the UK gas and electricity industry.

 

Energywatch has a specific remit which is detailed in the Utilities Act (2000)
