This domestic energy price comparison platform (the "Platform"), which is run by Energylinx Limited ("Energylinx", "we", "us", "our"), uses cookies to perform certain functions and generally to work in as user-friendly and efficient a manner as possible. This Cookie Policy sets out how the Platform makes use of cookies.

This Cookies Policy works in tandem with our Privacy Policy to inform you of how we use and protect any of your personal data that is collected through your use of the Website. Before you can use the full services and functions of the Platform (the “Services”), you are required to create an account with us, which is subject to the terms of a User Agreement.

What are Cookies?
When you interact with the Platform, our web server sends a cookie to your computer. Cookies are files that web browsers place on a computer’s hard drive and are used to tell us whether Users and visitors have visited the Platform previously.
Standing alone, cookies do not identify you personally. They merely recognize your browser. Unless you choose to identify yourself to Energylinx, either by responding to a promotional offer, opening an account, or registering to transfer your energy, you remain anonymous to Energylinx. How we use Cookies
The Platform uses session cookies containing encrypted information to allow the system to uniquely identify you while you are logged in. This information allows Energylinx to process your online transactions and requests. Session cookies help us make sure you are who you say you are after you’ve logged in and are required in order to allow you to use the Platform. The Platform uses persistent cookies that only Energylinx can read and use, to identify the fact that you are a Platform registered User or prior Platform visitor (whatever the case may be). We are especially careful about the security and confidentiality of the information stored in persistent cookies. For example, we do not store account numbers or passwords in persistent cookies. Users who disable their web browsers’ ability to accept cookies will be able to browse our website but will not be able to successfully use all of the functions and services provided by and through it.

With or without cookies, the Platform keeps track of usage data, such as the source address that the page request is coming from (i.e. your IP address, domain name), date and time of the page request, the referring website (if any) and other parameters in the URL (such as search criteria). We use this data to better understand website usage so we know what areas of our Platform users prefer. This information is stored in log files and is used for aggregated and statistical reporting but is not attributed to you as an individual.
Security
The Platform utilizes the most advanced technology for Internet security available today. When you access the Platform using a modern browser, Extended Validation Secure Socket Layer (EVSSL) technology protects your information using both server authentication and data encryption, ensuring that your data is safe, secure, and available only to registered users in your organization. Your data is completely inaccessible to anyone without proper credentials.
The Platform provides each user with a unique username and password that must be entered each time a user logs in. The Platform issues a session “cookie” only to record encrypted authentication information for the duration of a specific session. The session “cookie” does not include either the username and password of the user. The Platform does not use “cookies” to store other confidential user and session information, but instead implements more advanced security methods based on dynamic data and encoded session IDs.
